ASSIGNMENT # 2 (Developing a Research Proposal)

1.    GROUP ACTIVITY (3-4 team members): Develop Proposal

 

a.    Choose a common research area among yourselves; and Conduct a literature review to identify a research idea.

 

b.   For this idea, Develop a proposal for the research study (DELIVERABLE #1).

1.    Research Proposal: This is the product of the group activity where you follow proposal format suggested in Class 5 to develop your proposal according to the research design you selected for the study. Use IEEE Reference & Citation Guidelines.

A.      Your proposal should be between 8 and 10 pages (excluding title page). Using 1.5 line spacing and Times New Roman 12 font size. Title page should have project title, your names and student IDs).

B.       Make sure to indicate in the study plan the roles and responsibility each team member will play/carry when conducting the research study.

2.     INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY (each team member): Present & Report

a.    Each team member should elaborate on how they will go about fulfilling their role in the study.

b.    Give a 3-minute class presentation; and submit report on your part of the study (DELIVERABLE #2).

2.    Presentation & Report: This is the product of the individual activity where you use a maximum of 5 slides (in 3-min) to present your part in the study.

A.      Although this is an individual activity, team discussions are encouraged to discuss how each of you plan to carry out your responsibility and to understand how your parts fit together.

B.       Submit a 2-pages report using the same formatting instructions above.

DELIVERABLES 1 & 2 Submission Deadline 30 NOVEMBER 2020

This assignment has individual and group-work components that carry 30 % weight from overall course evaluation. This 30% is split as follows:

20% (Group Activity) + 10% (Individual Activity)

5.    Number of pages (Maximum 3 pages).

6.    References and Citations (Use ACM’s Formats).

7.    Print AND place inside envelope clearly marked by YOUR NAME and STUDENT ID.

8.    Submit your Assignment to Postgraduate Office.

Assignment Marking Scheme

* Weight of Assignment #1 is 10% of Total Course Evaluation.

* Distribution of Weight is as follows: Effort (4%) + Logic (4%) + Guidelines (2%).

* For late submissions, 2% will be deducted from total score for assignment.
